Cletus

Cletus wakes up first, around 6:00am. It is his job to milk Gertrude, muck out the pig sty, and feed the chickens. He allows himself three cigarettes between 6 and 9am. By the end of his routine, the children will be watching TV. The highlight of Cletus’ day is when he gets the chance to look at the savings jar in the pantry. He promises himself that he will take it and run away in just one more month. Just one more month before he’s free.
